Request for Proposals Now Open: Development of Single-Discipline Modular Performance-Based Assessment

The Canadian Alliance of Dental Technology Regulators (CADTR) and the College of Dental Technologists of Alberta (CDTA) are excited to announce an opportunity for qualified vendors to contribute to the development of a new Modular, Single-Discipline Performance-Based Assessment (PBA).

This project will support Alberta’s legislated registration pathways for Dental Technicians, allowing applicants to demonstrate competence in specific practice areas, including:

  • Removable Full Prostheses

  • Removable Partial Prostheses

  • Fixed Partial Prostheses

  • Fixed and Removable Orthodontic

  • Periodontal Appliances

  • We are seeking proposals from experienced organizations with a track record in designing competency-based, high-stakes assessments. The selected vendor will be responsible for designing, piloting, and implementing the modular assessment model, aligned with the National Essential Entry-to-Practice Competencies and CADTR’s PBA Master Blueprint.

    Key Dates:

  • RFP Issue Date: July 2, 2025

  • Proposal Submission Deadline: August 11, 2025 @ 4:00 PM MDT

  • Expected Implementation: September 2026

  • Interested parties must submit a comprehensive feasibility assessment and proposal, in accordance with the guidelines provided in the RFP.
